The law stipulates that all children of compulsory school age (5 to 16) must receive full-time education. As a result, parents have a legal responsibility to ensure that they fulfill this compulsory requirement - either by registering their child at a school or by making other arrangements to give them a suitable full-time education.
Reformation Community Project (RCP) is a service provider that is a caring, helpful and supportive organization. We have been assisting communities for 15 years and see the need for action to take place in order to enhance safer communities and young people. We have a wealth of experience with gun and knife crime and also gang affiliation, are able to fully give support to those who need it, specifically aiming to assist hard to reach young people. Our experience and intervention strategies can help young people survive and be able to live a positive educated life.
We have worked with other local authorities undertaking collaborated conferences within local communities, have held discussions about the gangs, gun and knife crime epidemic with Ken Livingston as well as MPs, and our activities in this area have been in the media on a variety of occasions. In 2004, we were honoured to receive an award at 10 Downing Street in recognition of people/organization making a difference in their local communities.
